Meet Hudson! He is just a baby who was tossed out like trash. A wonderful gal already has enough pets so she brought him here. The gal was told by a dog catcher to KILL HIM..... How SICK. Hudson is about 6-8 months old. Being a puppy, he is very active. We're working on his housebreaking. Hudson is a ACA purebred Canardly. You may click his pictures to read about the Canardly breed.
This is Angel.... She's not a perfect Angel but I'm in love with her! Angel ended up at a kill pound because she protected her yard when a small dog came into it. Mastiffs are protective. Please research the breed before filling out an application. Angel weighs 135 pounds and we're pouring the food to her because she's skinny! Angel will NOT be placed in a home with small pets or someone that doesn't know the breed.
When a sobbing Mother calls saying her 21 year old son hung himself could we please take his dog, how could we say no? What this Mother is going through nobody should have to experience. Delilah, we are calling Lila, just turned one year old a few days ago October 12th, the day her guardian hung himself. How sad. Lila is a very scared little girl. One of her young family members thought it was a cute trick to teach her to growl so this she used to do frequently. She gets along great with cats. We are working with Lila to get her housebroken. Lila has not had a single accident in her kennel. Poor Lila is so scared. Can you help her and give her the home she deserves? If so, please fill out our automatic adoption application found on our home page.

Ducky is a handsome boy!!
Ducky shakes hands!
Ducky sits up!
Ducky has a sponsor…..HURRAH! Jim and Frances come here two or three times a week and have really fallen in love with Ducky. Thank you Jim and Frances! This is our gentle giant, Ducky. He came in quacking like a duck with terrible kennel cough from being turned in to a kill facility. We doubt he will be adopted since he is almost eight years old, but it's worth a try and he could certainly use some sponsors. Ducky had a dental and the lump on his lip and eye lid appear to be non-cancerous. Ducky IS safe here and doing great. We are in love with him. SO much in love with him, I accidentally forgot to post him on this web page for several weeks! He is laying at my feet as I type this! Ducky came from a kill facility. He is not overly friendly to strangers and has some hip problems which he is receiving medication for. Weighing in at almost 120 pounds, Ducky gets along great with large and small dogs. We have not had him around cats. Ducky's home will require someone to spoil him. He MUST be inside preferably with someone home with him during the day and a playmate since he enjoys the company of other dogs. Of course, a fenced in yard is also a MUST. If you think you have the perfect home for Ducky, please fill out an automatic application.
Meet Sheba. Sheba is a young girl of only about two years old. She is one of the very few "kids" who was adopted and returned. Sheba was SO happy to have a loving home that she wanted to protect them more than they wanted protected. She growled at their dog and at some other dogs on a camping trip after she had became very attached. Her adoptors think she needs to be in a one dog home. We have her running and playing with 11 other dogs here and she is doing great. Sheba will need new people who are the pack leaders and have followed the work and training of Cesar Millan (dog whisperer). This is going to be a requirement of her new people. Sheba is a beautiful girl who only needs a home with people who understand what she has been through and are leaders. Are you a leader?
Another call for help resulted in Buffy coming to our shelter. (sigh) She was impounded as a stray and adopted out by another facility. Buffy was returned to them for being too loving! She only wanted to protect the children and adults in the home. Her new family did not want to work with her. Due to these issues, Pet Pals was called to help with her rescue. When some animal facilities call for our help, we know the dogs are very special. Buffy's teeth are VERY white so we're guessing she is not the three year old as on her paperwork. Our guess is she is only one year old. So far we have seen a little protectiveness but not anything major. Buffy gets along with other dogs here wonderfully. She is learning to play. She minds well and knows come, sit and does well on a leash. She does prefer women to men!
Update: Bear's ear has healed and he is doing great. Previously: Another medical problem.....Your donations are saving lives, thank you. This is poor Bear. He is a purebred Australian Shepherd who was taken in by Pet Pals Saturday evening (3/18/06) after our spay/neuter clinic. What we know is he was adopted by the vet tech at the Cheyenne Animal Center. Bear was crying when he was left alone which resulted in landlord problems. Bear is housebroken but soils in the house when he is left alone and not crated. Originally a pound pooch, Bear's sweetness saved him from the needle and a BIG thanks to Andrea! He was an owner turn in because of a stupid reason, moving. Bear had ear surgery a couple weeks ago and has had ear problems for months. Andrea has spent lots of money in vet fees. We will be having blood tests done to check for a number of things including allergies and thyroid problems. His teeth were cleaned so he may be as old as eight years. Bear is VERY smart. He leads you to the door when he wants to go outside potty. He loves to eat ice cubes or snow! He sits, shakes hands and lays down. He is very food motivated! He gets along GREAT with the other dogs, cats and kittens but does not care for children as he prefers a quiet home. Update: Bear had ear surgery March 28th. He has a bad infection and is on medication. Blood tests were done and we will post results as they become available.
Meet Cajun Gumbo from Louisiana! Gumbo is a Katrina survivor. He was one of the first dogs to get out of the state after the hurricane. When Gumbo was rescued he had a wound on his right side by his flank, a puncture wound on his right shoulder blade, a puncture wound inside his right hock, he was heart worm positive and he was very very skinny. Poor boy Gumbo is now healed and almost ready for adoption. Pet Pals is working on some behavior problems. Good grief, is it any wonder after what he has been thru? Gumbo has been thru something in his short 2-3 year life that I hope I never have to experience. This playful boy's face lights up when he makes eye contact. If you startle him and grab his collar real fast, he will snap at you out of fear. It may take a long time for his nerves to settle down. He seems to attach himself to you very fast and wants to please. Gumbo is VERY fearful of water......DUH, no explanation needed. Gumbo LOVES to play ball and enjoyed playing with an 8 year old little girl visiting us. I wouldn't recommend real small children that may startle him. It is unknown how he does around cats or other dogs. He appears to be housebroken. Information will be posted when we know him better. He was JUST delivered to us Nov. 3rd by The Cheyenne Animal Care Center. They go out of their way to save pets, even those with behavior problems. The gals delivering Gumbo even donated money for his care until he finds a home. THANK YOU very much. What a GREAT group of people. Please consider Gumbo as your next family member and you will have a piece of history for years to come. UPDATE: Gumbo gets along GREAT with other dogs. He has been in a foster home doing very well, thank you Sophia!
There are currently no courtesy posts! The following is for uneducated people who don't have their pets spayed or neutered. Their pet's chances of developing cancer go up ten fold.

You can help thru donations.
What will it take to get people to SPAY/NEUTER their pets? Cancer and other health problems are more prevalent in unaltered pets.
ADOPTED........HURRAH!!! Click her picture to view other sad abuse cases. This is Deena. She was just brought in as a dirty starved little girl. While removing mud on Deena, I found a bullet hole. Someone shot this puppy and left her for dead. Deena is VERY shy and has yet to make a peep. Appears to be a border collie and only 8-10 weeks old. UPDATE: See her NOW. Her new family says she is VERY much loved and has been just a perfect dog.
Bye, Ya all come back!
