PLEASE read the following before calling. Our pets canNOT be bought. If you think you are going to come here and offer $1,000 for one of our pets and take it home, you are WRONG! This recently happened! We are open by appointment ONLY because of all the work and visits to our veterinarian. Our homes are carefully screened and you MUST fill out an adoption application online. Please do not fill out an application if you are gone for 9 hours a day and expect one of our puppies to be happy when left ALL alone day after day for this length of time in a bathroom or garage. If you are willing to take your new family member to day care at least for a couple days a week, proceed! Several veterinarians are now telling their clients to beware of rescues and to only deal with Pet Pals, Inc. We don't know you personally, but thank you! Our pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped, tattooed, vaccinated and wormed BEFORE placement. Our veterinarian is up to date on the latest procedures so we do juvenile spay/neutering. Puppies are ready for adoption at 8 to 10 weeks. Your patience is appreciated! We DO fly pets out of our area. You will need to pay for shipping but we will gladly deliver your new family member to Denver International Airport for a nonstop flight! Shipping is running from $100 to $250.00. You need to call the airlines and find out the fees. It is ONLY because of adoptions and donations that we are able to save more lives. THANK YOU! A reminder: We have had applications submitted two hours apart. You better not e-mail asking questions or you will loose to the first application submitted! No, tiny puppies are not housebroken.... They are puppies!
We're doing the BEST we can with over 80 pets here right now, the phone which never stops ringing and e-mails coming in at 150 to 200+ daily. It took 174 pictures to come up with our current small adoptable dogs pictured below! Sunday, while some of you were reading scriptures "for God", some of us was doing HIS work. "It is so, they are ALL God's Children", Mother Teresa. We don't have a fancy church to pray in, but we pray every day for the suffering and killing to stop. We don't have a collection plate to pass to you, but we NEED donations to continue HIS work. Won't you help? Being a small group in a rural area, donations are far and few in between. Even a dollar is appreciated. Click on the PayPal donate biscuit or mail a donation to Pet Pals, Inc., Spay/Neuter Drive, Hawk Springs, WY 82217
100% of your donations go towards saving lives. THANK YOU for helping save lives.
Meet Salsa! He's "spicy"....full of pep and vinegar! We're guessing his age to be one to two years old. Salsa LOVES to be held. He's on the spoiled side and has separation anxiety. If you want a special lap "kid", here he is! Salsa has probably been abused or simply not socialized properly. Like most dogs their only defense is their teeth. Salsa will show his teeth and growl when cornered. Once he is picked up, he melts on your shoulder....aawwww! Update:Salsa is really turning into a LOVE. He is now greeting visitors with a smile and jumps in their lap!
Meet one year old Badger! This little doll is only about four pounds. He is part Dalmatian! Just kidding he's a purebred Chihuahua. Badger was in a home with four other male dogs and five cats. Since he was in a home, he is housebroken and knows Come. It's unknown how he is with children but we're sure he would love older children since he LOVES everyone! If you don't want a dog that licks, don't apply!
Meet one year old BamBam! He's only 11.0 pounds and gets along with other dogs. He has not been with cats. When BamBam first came in here, he was one of our worse fear biters. BamBam has now improved a LOT. We didn't even get bit when we dressed him up for pictures! Because of BamBam's fear of people, his home should be quiet and patient to let him warm up to you. He can turn out to be a really neat boy, if given the chance. Can you give him a chance?
Let me introduce friendly Bear to you! He is a beautiful orange/sable Pomeranian who is 6 1/2 years old.....Hum, he mostly acts like a puppy! Bear can be on the bossy side like an old man! So he will not do well in a home with alfa dogs. He was in a home with four other male dogs (one was very small) and five cats. Since he was in a home, he is housebroken and knows come. It's unknown how he is with children but we're sure he would love older children since he LOVES everyone! Doesn't everyone need a teddy bear to hug? Please fill out an application.
C.B. (Chocolate Boy) is a beautiful chocolate Pomeranian who is only three years old. He acts shy at first but warms up quickly and jumps on your leg for attention. C.B. was in a home with four other male dogs (one was very small) and five cats. Since he was in a home, he is housebroken and knows Come. It's unknown how he is with children but we're sure he would love older children since he LOVES everyone! Doesn't everyone just LOVE Chocolate? Please fill out an application AFTER reading our small dog page about policies, thank you!
Meet Duffy. He is a one year old loving little boy weighing in at only 9.6 pounds. As you can see, Duffy is on the shy side but warms up quickly. He will need some training but is a fast learner! Duffy is not dominant and a real love.
The is little Daisy. At 2 1/2 years old and only 9.8 pounds Daisy is a riot. She's full of playfulness, but on the shy side until she warms up. Daisy is the Mommy to some of the puppies that were brought in to us. Feeding all the babies has made her thin. Daisy is sweet and needs a quiet loving home.
Another sweet little boy. Duke is the brother to Duffy. It's hard to tell them apart. Duke is a one year old loving little boy weighing in at only 10.2 pounds. As you can see, Duke is a great looking little boy! Duke like Duffy will need some training but is a fast learner! Duke is not dominant and a real love.
This is a Fox.....I mean Foxy! She is about two years old so she is full grown and only seven pounds. Just a little doll. Very very sweet and on the shy side. Foxy needs a home with patience to teach her not to be scared.
Goldie's sweetness makes you go awwww! She had a horrible hernia which has now been fixed and she's fully recovered. She is pictured on our home page. We also had a dental completed on her. Being six years old she is more laid back. Goldie is not at all shy and loves to be pet. At 15.8 pounds she could lose some weight. Need a walking partner?
Meet two year old Jester! What can I say nice about Jester? He's only 10.2 pounds and gets along with other dogs. He has not been with cats. On the down side he will need someone with a HUGE heart. When Jester came in he was a fear biter. Jester has now melted my heart. He's one of my favorites and wants to play with me. Because of his fear, his home should be quiet and patient to let him warm up. Do you have a huge heart?
This is Lady who hasn't always been a lady! At 1 1/2 years old Lady would bite when touched. She's only 10.8 pounds and has GREAT teeth! She gets along with other dogs. She has not been with cats. When Lady first came in here, she was one of our worse fear biters. Lady has now improved a LOT. We didn't even get bit when we dressed her up for pictures! Because of Lady's fear of people, her home should be quiet and patient to let her warm up to you. She can turn out to be a really neat girl, if given the chance. Can you give her a chance?
What a LOVE! Meet Lovey. She is only about eight months old and very outgoing after she warms up. When people come here, she makes our couch bark! At only six pounds she easily hides under the couch. Lovey is going to make us cry when she finds her PERFECT forever home. She's sleeping in our bed! Want your couch to bark? :-)
This is Missy, who at three years old, was not handled. When Missy first came in here, she would bite when touched. She's a big girl at 17.2 pounds and has GREAT teeth! She gets along with other dogs. She has not been with cats. Missy has to be the worse fear biter we've ever had in here. Missy has now improved a LOT. We didn't even get bit when we dressed her up for pictures! Because of Missy's fear of people, her home should be quiet and patient to let her warm up to you. She can turn out to be a really neat girl, if given the chance. Can you give her a chance?
This beautiful rare gray sable boy is very sweet. Oscar is only two years old and weights 7.2 pounds. Oscar is one of the few dogs who warmed up very fast and lays flat for you to pick him up. He loves being held. Everyone who comes here loves Oscar. Too bad most of our visitors are rescue people who are already full of pets! Do you have room?
Petunia slipped the gate so I swooped her up and brought her into our house. Funny thing is my husband didn't even notice! He wondered why one of the normally shy cream Poms was scratching on his leg to be picked up until he counted! Oops, there was an extra one! Petunia is very sweet. She is three to four years old and only weighs 7.8 pounds. Petunia is very calm. Need a pretty flower in your home?
This is Ralphie. He is a cream sable Pomeranian. Ralphie is three years old. Ralphie was in a home with four other male dogs (one was very small) and five cats. Since he was in a home, he is housebroken and knows Come. It's unknown how he is with children but we're sure he would love older children since he LOVES everyone! Ralphie was one of the first dogs to warm up to us when this bunch came in.
What's on my head? Seems to be what Redmond is thinking! Redmond is only eight to ten months old and acts like a baby! He is 10.8 pounds of energy! Redmond wants to be top dog and will need someone with a firm hand. He's not a biter, just wants to boss the other dogs around! Redmond is very friendly and playful. Everyone needs a playful little boy!
This is one year old Sam. He has tugged at our heart strings from day one. Weighing only seven pounds he has needed extra TLC! Of course, he thinks he needs extra TLC also! He cries to be with you. Sam is very friendly and loves being held. Being so small the other dogs have picked on him so he is put with just the very small dogs. He gets along great with small dogs. Do you have room for a small little LOVE?
This is 1 1/2 year old Simon. Simon was kept here instead of being sent to other rescues because he BITES!! At only 8.2 pounds he really has strength in his mouth. That comment should help find him a home! LOL Okay, here's the deal with Simon. He only bites when he's extremely scared. Simon has now warmed up and wants to play. Simon has made a remarkable recovery after not being handled. He will, however, require someone who is a pack leader. Are you a pack leader?
Okay, I lost the paperwork on Sissy so you can't have her! We have changed eight month old Sissy's name to Paris because when you pick her up, her nose goes up in the air....snooty, snooty, snooty! Paris only weighs 5.2 pounds and is sleeping in our bed. Some of these darlings are going to be very hard for us to let go, but being in rescue, we can't keep them all when others need our help. Paris is not really snooty and gets along with all the other dogs. She is very playful.
This delightful little girl is Spunky Monkey! She is only 1 1/2 years old and weighs 6.6 pounds. Spunky Monkey is a riot. Like her name, she's spunky! Spunky Monkey is on the shy side until she warms up and then she smiles! She gets along with all the other dogs. Need some spunk in your life?
I will not guarantee Toffee will leave our home! One year old Toffee has taken over my husband's lap and lays her head on his chest. At 7.4 pounds she is all LOVE! Gotta keep hubby happy so he will keep working to feed all these critters! Toffee gets along great with other dogs. She is on the shy side with strangers. Like with all our pets, if you have the PERFECT home, fill out an application!

Dundee has been adopted……HURRAH!! Thank you, Shirlene!
Cute Dundee was brought to Pet Pals, Inc. because he was found in a barn almost dead and the people have enough pets. While removing the above mats, it was discovered he had a bullet imbedded in his leg. Dundee had the bullet removed along with a much needed dental. The bullet was lead which could have caused lead poisoning. WHAT IDIOT would shoot a small cute little dog? I would LOVE to meet you. You are a SCUM BAG who needs neutered and I would ENJOY helping with your surgery. With tears, YOUR donations made saving him possible, THANK YOU!
Dizzy is a pom Chihuahua mix at not quite a year old. We have read many horror stories about homes not being what rescuers had hoped for. We never thought out of the hundreds of carefully screened adoptions it would happen to us. Dizzy was adopted but was returned with a bump/sore on her nose and blood vessels broken in her eye. We took Dizzy to our vet who confirmed it was from trauma either by being hit, thrown or dropped. We have a e-mail from the adoptor saying she was "tapping" Dizzy on the nose when she had an accident on the carpet and Dizzy was snapping at her. You don't correct a dog from having accidents on your carpet by hitting them. A dog's only defense is to use their teeth. Funny thing is if you ask Dizzy if she has to go potty, she barks and runs to the door. ALL the adoptor had to do was say "potty". Being a puppy, Dizzy has to potty every couple hours. After what Dizzy has been through, she and her father, Dusty, are staying here as our sanctuary pets. Is there ANY doubt why we screen our new homes?
The following article is typical of puppy mills. Even though the article is two years old, if you don't know what a puppy mill is, please read the article. The horrors continue through out the US and Canada EVERY day. OKLAHOMA COUNTY PUPPY MILL CLOSED DOWN-DESCRIBED AS A, "HOUSE OF HORRORS" On July 8, 2006, Safe Haven Humane Society of Midwest City, and Homeward Bound Humane Society of Durant, removed 130 dogs and puppies from an Oklahoma County residence. Owner Betty Foster, in her late 70s, produced puppies at the location for over 30 years. Small breeds of dogs and their puppies were removed from filthy conditions; water was black, most of the food was moldy, and over 40 carcasses were found in bags on the property. A freshly dead puppy was being consumed by a rat. 'Puppy mills,' are a dirty secret throughout Oklahoma, and a secret that is growing. As this filthy industry is regulated in other states, they are expanding here. Few people know where their pet store dog came from and fewer know where their stolen pet may wind up. Puppy mills are a mountain of shame. When dogs no longer, 'produce a crop,' they are discarded in the growing number of dog auctions, or worse. While the dogs were being removed on Saturday, according to Foster's granddaughter's comments, she herself performed caesarian deliveries by, in her own words, "splitting them open." Dogs with their midlines sutured together with fishing line were removed from the property. One gray Poodle that had been, 'split open,' was found in the trashcan with her intestines out. The birthing area had rolls of fishing line strewn on the floor. Foster had earlier tried to get rescue leagues to take senior dogs that no longer produced puppies, but on Saturday the dogs she tried to release earlier were gone; rat poison was photographed in many bowls. The horrors continued: Upon returning to Durant with the dogs, Homeward Bound Shelter Manager Stacy George started the task of cleaning and bathing the dogs. She removed scores of ticks from the area around the eyes of one small Lhasa Apso, however, instead of getting a happy glance, the young dogs' eyes were gone. Some dogs have large tumors on their midlines. A terrier had a dead mouse entwined in its' fur. Some will have to have surgery from being, "split open," in butcher style caesarian surgeries. Many of the dogs removed from Foster's residence wear tags from recently being sold through auctions; some may be stolen pets. A lack of serious regulation of dog auctions permits stolen pets to go right into the, 'puppy mill,' industry. It is time for Oklahomans to put our foot down on the misery. " We demand changes in Oklahoma laws to include dog dealer regulations. Owners of missing or stolen pets with positive identification including photos are encouraged to call: 580-924-5873, 918-367-0111, or 918-367-8999
Most of the puppy mill dogs have VERY long nails and are in need of dentals, cataract surgeries, deep ear cleaning, multiple tests and, of course, spaying/neutering.
Here are just a very few of the dogs who have been adopted, THANK YOU!
Again, with tears…. We couldn't do it without your help, hugs!
