A distraught phone call in the evening and another abused stray puppy was being brought to our facility. Found over a mile from anywhere, she was very hungry with her ribs and backbone sticking out. While being bathed the next day to remove caked mud, a bullet hole was discovered. Obviously, she had been shot with a 22-rifle and left to die.

Abuse just never seems to end. Little Liberty was only about 10 weeks old when she was kicked in the head by a guy wearing cowboy boots. THANK YOU, to the unknown Animal Angel that rescued her and took her to a vet. The kick resulted in her skull being fractured leaving bone fragments which caused infection.
Liberty was taken to a vet a third time. She still had a lot of infection and drainage from her eye. Dr. Lawler found more bone fragments. The following bone fragments were removed and drain tubes were inserted.
Liberty went to her new home on August 10th. THANK YOU Tracy for choosing rescue. THANK YOU Dr. Lawler for saving her and the donation of her surgeries to remove bone fragments. Without your help, she may have died.
While most people enjoyed the 4th with family, here's what I did. People moved and left their dogs behind.
Following is the start of a LONG grooming process.
Here's how they looked when they were done!
Following are some of the sores that I found. All three had thorns imbedded in their skin. One thorn had to be an inch long. I wasn't going to shave the pom until I saw all the sores. The first picture is a foot.
I started my day with a family member telling me I wasn't going to change the world. I was feeling blue. I can't change the world, but look how we changed three lives......HURRAH!
Your donations make it possible to save lives.
